A sanitizing tunnel is a small chamber-like structure which has nozzles on the inside that spray a disinfectant mist as you pass it. Essentially these tunnels spray a mist of sodium hypochlorite solution, a chlorine compound often used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent, as you pass through them. Sodium hypochlorite is a component of commercial bleaches and cleaning solutions and used as a disinfectant in drinking and wastewater purification systems and swimming pools. World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends the use of sodium hypochlorite, only on surfaces, and small quantities. These tunnels come in various shapes, sizes and costs, and range from basic contraptions to high-end steel and chrome tunnels with various sensors and conveyor belts and traffic lights. These tunnels can be used at the entrances or exits of various public locations like offices, hospitals, hotels, stadiums, etc.
