How Augmented Reality is changing the Buying Patterns
Updated: Aug 5, 2020

Augmented Reality or AR has been a popular concept for quite a few years now. It has been incorporated in several different types of products/services, one of the most popular examples being the game Pokemon Go. In simple words, Augmented Reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects from the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, etc.
Augmented Reality in E-commerce allows customers to preview products or experience services before buying. It allows customers to preview products and help them pick the right product the first time. You can use this feature to let the consumer know how would the product or service look like in real-time in their space. Including this in your application would require access to the user's camera. It would then render a digital representation of the user's space which would then be incorporated to showcase your product/service in that space.
ENHANCES CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Using AR in your application attracts customer attention and engages them with your service. Engaging the customer with your service offers you an edge above the other brands in the market by making the customer experience something new and unusual.
CUSTOMISATION
When a user sees your product/service in their real-time environment they are able to customise the product/service according to their needs. This eliminates the need for any customer return hassles. The real-time customisations allow the customer to make the right choice for themselves in the first try the giving them a satisfactory experience.
